Guest, Speaker, Performer Bios - Nayana Shenoy

Guru Nayana Shenoy is the founder and artistic director of Shivam School of Dance, located in San Jose, California. She studied Bharatanatyam with Guru Natya Kala Saraswati and Late Smt. Jayalakshmi Alva. After her arangetram in 1994, she performed at various temple festivals and played an active lead role in her school's dance ballets. Nayana is now bringing Indian traditional dance form to the younger generation. She has choreographed the Ramayana Dance Ballet, to be performed by her students and other Bay Area dancers.
