Dr. Arundathi Shenoy Malladi began learning Carnatic violin at the age of 6 from K J Venkatachar in Mysore, India, where she grew up. She was a violinist for the Shunya theater troupe and Meenakshi Temple Orchestra in Houston, TX. After moving to San Francisco for a fellowship at UCSF, she is now exploring Hindustani music at the Ali Akbar College of Music. Dr. Malladi is a practicing rheumatologist and lives in Marin County with her husband Vikram and two daughters Arya and Asha, both of whom now learn the violin. She will be accompanying Ganesh Shenoy.
